Guiding your path to healing, growth, and a life worth living
Kristina Waters, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (KY), and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (KY, IN), graduated from University of Louisville in 2018 with her Master of Science in Social Work and specialization in Couples and Family Therapy. Kristina has been working with Couples, Families, and people experiencing Eating Disorders for 7+ years.
When seeing Couples and Families, Kristina works to make sure each person feels heard and able to assert their needs. Techniques in Emotionally Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Gottman Therapy are used to guide families and couple's in communicating and living together more harmoniously.
Living with an Eating Disorder can cause disruption and isolation in an individual and family's life. Often times when seeking Eating Disorder treatment for the first time, people are referred to Intensive Outpatient Programs or Residential Treatment without first being able to try outpatient therapy. Kristina understands life does not stop when an Eating Disorder becomes unmanageable. Using techniques in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure and Ritual Prevention, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness, outpatient treatment can be successful in avoiding the need to attend a higher level of care and restoring a balanced life.
Kristina sees clients 13 years and older, families of all sizes, couples, and individuals, in-person or online. Kristina strongly believes that the client is the expert on their life and, as the therapist, she is there to help them gain the tools to get the life they want.
